Allison Jones

Allison Jones will hit a major milestone at the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games - her fifth Paralympic Games competition. A standout athlete in alpine skiing and cycling, Jones will look to continue her dominance on the slopes in Whistler, BC.

During the 2007-2008 ski season, Allison Jones finished in the top-ten of every World Cup event she entered (a striking 17) before going on to become the national champion in all four ski disciplines as well as the overall champion for the U.S. All this, while also training to compete in the sport of cycling at the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing, China.

Jones was born without a right femur. When her family moved from Texas to Colorado, she began skiing at age 5. She was racing by the time she was 8 years old, working up through Winter Park's renowned disabled program and reaching the U.S. Team by the 2001 season.

Nicknamed "Jonezy," she graduated from University of Denver in 2007 with a degree in mechanical engineering. She was the recipient of the Pioneer Award, which is the highest achievement an undergraduate can receive.

Jones collects Coca-Cola bottles from around the world and enjoys packing and unpacking her bags for all of her skiing and cycling trips.
