Andy Yohe
Always a hockey fanatic, Andy Yohe was a roller hockey player for the Bettendorf (Iowa) Young Guns before losing both legs in an accident in 1994. Yohe was run over while trying to jump onto a train. In 2003, he got back into hockey when he joined the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) Blackhawks, where immediately showed his scoring touch by setting the club's record for points in a season by a rookie.
Yohe was a member of Team USA in 2006 and helped the team win a bronze medal at the Paralympic Winter Games in Torino, Italy. As the newly appointed captain for the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team, Yohe says he is excited for the opportunity to once again represent his country and compete at the 2010 Games in Vancouver.
Yohe graduated from Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa with a bachelor of arts in business administration. He currently resides in West Henrietta, N.Y., with his wife, Katie.
