Anthony Zahn

After a strong performance at the 2007 IPC Cycling World Championships in Bordeaux, France, Anthony Zahn followed it up with a bronze medal at the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing, China, placing third in the Individual Time Trial (LC4).

Zahn was diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth syndrom in high school, which is a condition characterized by a slow progressive degeneration of the muscles in the periphery of the body. At the time, he was playing several sports and decided to concentrate on cycling. The physical challenges he faces every day and the surgery he has endured have strengthened his character and allowed him to focus on achieving his goals.

Though he spends most of his time training, Zahn enjoys relaxing and supporting his wife Deane while she pursues her Ph.D. in Entomology and in her Federation Equestrian International Competitions (FEI).
