Scott Danberg
Scott Danberg is well-regarded as a dominant force on the international throwing scene, having competed for over two decades. Beijing marked Danberg's fourth Paralympic Games and finished eighth in a large field of the men's shot put F40.
He competed at the 2006 IPC Athletics World Championships in Assen, The Netherlands where he won silver in the shot put with a throw of 9.73m. Prior to Worlds, Danberg competed in the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece. But that wasn't his first foray into the Paralympic Games; Danberg had previously competed at the 1988 Paralympic Games in Seoul, Korea, where he won silver in the javelin. He also competed at the 1992 Paralympic Games in Barcelona, Spain in the sport of powerlifting.
An avid athlete, fitness coach, wellness educator and designer of customized exercise programs, Danberg has inspired thousands of men and women to make exercise a part of their lives through his work as Director of Spa & Fitness at the Pritikin Longevity Center & Spa in Aventura, Fla. He has a master's of kinesiology and is currently working towards a Ph.D. in Leadership and Education, and he is an adjunct professor for Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Fla.
Danberg is married to his wife Pam, and they have a teenage son.
