Ultimate Champion
The Ultimate Champion was a pentathlon style event that pits warriors against each other in five different disciplines - shooting, shot put, 100m sprint, 1500m run and 50m freestyle swim. Points were earned in each discipline with the athlete collecting the most points being crowned Ultimate Champion.
The initial Ultimate Champion trophy was awarded to Dan Hathorn (Navy), but due to a naming error that was not caught by coaches or administrators in the Ultimate Champion competition at the 2010 Warrior Games, a second Ultimate Champion award is being presented by the U.S. Olympic Committee to Jeff Martin (Marines). Given the intent and spirit of the Warrior Games and in recognition of their outstanding performances, we congratulate both of the individual top finishers, Jeff Martin and Dan Hathorn.
